“RIP,” the first feature film by Alessandro D’Ambrosi and Santa de Santis, will be released in theaters on Thursday, October 23, distributed by Filmclub Distribuzione. The film is an NVP STUDIOS production – NVP S.p.a. group.

The ensemble cast, including co-stars Augusto Fornari, Giulia Michelini, Valerio Morigi, and Nina Pons, also features the extraordinary participation of Ernesto Mahieux and Antonio Catania, and original music by Daniele Silvestri and Klangore Factory.

The life of Leonardo, a solitary and cynical obituary writer disillusioned with life, is turned upside down by an extraordinary and adventurous encounter with an eccentric group of surprisingly vibrant ghosts. Among them is the ghost of his father, who reappears to Leonardo, a young, extroverted man with no memory of his life as an absent and unloving parent, reawakening his son’s secret happiness, overcome by his fear of love. RIP is a journey that addresses the theme of grief and loss with a uniquely authorial approach, blending surreal comedy, drama, and melodrama, with biting irony and the subtlety of human vision.

A “ghost story” with an Italian twist, in which the psychological depth of the characters and the staging immerse the viewer in a shifting dimension, both sacred and surreal.
